| Welcome to the Beginning Stage Class!!! We are a group of 6 to 8 year olds and range through different levels of learning. Some of us are just learning to read, while others are well into chapter books. As a community, we help each other grow and become better citizens and learners. We are energetic, motivated and full of excitement. We have learned many new things this year. Among them are: learning about different children's authors and the genres in which they write as well as learning to write in different genres such as letter writing, narratives, poems and many others. We learned how to discuss books in a manner where we can all understand the content of the books we read as well as engage in book conversation where we are respectful to each others thoughts, ideas and feelings. We learned to be responsible in taking care of classroom pets as well as learning all about them, their habitats and their essential needs. We learned directions and simple mapping using the compass rose as well as travel all over the United States and World (well, maybe our paper-made selves will) to visit and learn about different states and countries. Enjoy looking through our classroom site and learning all about us! I have added all of the pictures I have taken of the class learning this year. Enjoy the new pictures!! |

| We've learned so much about the Spiderwick Chronicles series this year. We made or own Field Guide, did many characterizations, wrote about and pretended to be some of the creatures (here we are on the left being elves)! Our class created a school wide scavenger hunt to search and find the Field Guide. We even took a trip to see the movie on opening day! What Fun!!! View all the Spiderwick Pictures below. |
